Dancing Can Actually Be Fun (Who Knew?)!

Yesterday, I had my prom. I've been looking forward to writing a post about it probably longer than I've been looking forward to prom (this is mostly because I was fairly nervous about going to prom in the first place). And this post was going to be a slightly satirical account of my time: foiled by the fact that I did actually enjoy myself a lot. Pre-prom was fun simply because all my friends were basically just hanging out in my garden as various people did hair/makeup. The only unfun thing was that my sister kept poking me in the face when doing my makeup because she is evil and mean. I'm joking. She's lovely. She did my makeup and my hair. What bad things could I possibly say about her now? One of my friends actually started crying when she saw us, which was lovely because being told that you look amazing is wonderful, but it was also worrying because makeup and tears do not mix well. But we did all look beautiful, and I now have so many photos- some are nicel

Congratulations to the Class of...

We had our Leavers' Day at school today. For those of you who have no idea whatsoever what this means, here's a quick guide: basically, we all gather outside and collect our yearbooks/leavers' hoodies, then sign each other's shirts and take pictures with friends. It's an incredibly English experience, especially as it's always slightly awkward trying to sign shirts as people are wearing them. Then we had an assembly- in which, I don't think that I've laughed that hard for ages- then we heard the last ever school bell (or I didn't hear the last school bell because it was too loud in the hall) and we left. It was surprisingly enjoyable, although very hot, and the pictures taken were all very lovely. The assembly contained a slideshow of all of our Year 7 photos (highly embarrassing, although most were actually very cute) as well as videos of the Senior Tutors wishing us good luck (apart from one, who teaches Physics, who simply sang the Electromagnet

Happy Father's Day! Dad- you are quite funny I suppose, nevermind what my card to you said. And, of course, thanks for helping Mum to raise me as you have done an amazing job (not so much with my sisters though...) And as I said with my Mothering Sunday post (find it  here ), there are other 'dads' out there than just your biological one. I have my dad, then my two granddads, plus loads of people from church (one of which tags me in posts on Facebook which never fails to make me smile) and uncles who make fun of me more than my sisters do. Again, it's perfectly okay to have other people whom you celebrate on father's day. So, I thought that I'd look for some lists of gift ideas and make fun of  think about them in an incredibly thoughtful manner. Like a book that collects together the world's (apparently) greatest dad jokes (that my own dad does not need, ever- he already has a tin of dad jokes). I did find a personalised watch stand, which was

No!! Don't Pass The Beach Ball To Larry...Larry's a Narwhal!

Happy last day of GCSEs!! For most of us. Not me, because I do Add Maths. And not for people who do German. It's sad. But, for me anyway, Add Maths doesn't really matter and so I'm 'celebrating' today. My mum and I went out for lunch- I had an amazing lemon meringue pie, which always reminds me of when I made it in a food class. Then we went to W.H.Smiths and I now am the proud owner of two new books and a fluffy notebook with an adorable picture of a narwhal on it. I love narwhals. I have narwhal socks that are glittery. Narwhals are great. I mean, who couldn't love this beautiful creature?  Oooh! Speaking of narwhals, have you read 'Why The Whales Came' by Michael Morpurgo? It's one of my favourite books by him, I think, alongside 'War Horse', 'Private Peaceful' and 'Running Wild'. Anyway. Onto politics.  No, I'm just going to say that I don't know exactly who I'd like to become our next wonderful l
